Join the museum in collaboration with Elizabeth City Downtown, Inc. at Mariners' Wharf, 200 South Water Street, highlighting the museum's newest exhibit, Where the Waves Break: Surfing in Northeastern North Carolina.

Beginning around 6 p.m., return to the days of hot rods, drive-ins, sock hops, poodle skirts, and pompadour with live music provided by Lucky 757 of Portsmouth, Virginia. At 8:30 p.m., guests can enjoy the 60th anniversary of the classic surfing movie The Endless Summer. This Bruce Brown documentary highlights the adventures of two young American surfers, Robert August and Mike Hynson, who follow this everlasting summer around the world.

Weather in the form of wind and rain may affect the live music and movie screening. If this should occur, Mariners' Wharf, Museum of the Albemarle, ECDI, and RCE Theaters will move to the museum's portico at 501 South Water Street at the last minute.
